Big O, Roger, Dorothy

I tried a couple new things for this picture. Mainly to do an urban environment but instead of going nuts over details I tried to do the whole "make it look like there are details without adding details" thing, I used a couple mullins references to try and figure out which details are more important than others. 2nd I wanted to try creating a texture layer for big o, so this is essentially 2 layers, the bottom layer is a texture mess and is nothing byitself, the top layer is everything else but with the sillouette of Big O erased out (then adding minimal shading so its not just a giant shadow).

for people interested in the process of what I did, I made a quick runthrough of the steps I took at polykarbonbbs.com - you can find the post here [link] (edit: oops I accidentally deleted the images from my server, the text is still there but no images)

Atmosheric perspective can add a great deal of drama to any painting, and SHOWTIME by ~digital404 is a prime example of this. (Featured by $damphyr)

The heart.....to think it can tell u ur in love and be shattered by just a word. That's why it is best not to feel, because if u can't feel ur heart beating, then u wont be suprised when it stops, and the silence will be deafening....

I'M FREEEEEEEEEE!

I used Photoshop for it. I only used 2 layers so the layers arent all that much to look at, the first is a painted texture using custom brushes, its the same throughout the entire canvas with no form or anything. The top layer is the sky/buildings/street and then I erased the shape of big o out of it which shows the texture underneath. I mainly just used the plain round brush along with some of the natural media brushes in photoshop to get the painted style
